The 2010 Silk Painters International Conference (http://www.silkpainters.org/) was a success! This year the program was shortened to a week with 3 days of workshops. There were workshops for beginners to various techniques, including a two-day shibori workshop by Yoshiko Wada. I will post more about her de-gumming workshop later, but just to let you know, Day 1 of arrival was a reception held at a gallery on Canyon Road in Santa Fe.
Days 2-4 were 3 days of workshops all held at the IAIA campus. The dorms were clean, quiet, with an A/C and personal bathroom/shower - like a hotel but no TV. TV, free computer use are all located in the common space with the kitchen and microwave. This is a great setup when taking all day workshops. Just walk out of the dorm to the classroom building. Three meals are included in a package price, so no cooking, no cleaning, no driving to restaurants. Just eat and leave.
open skies, beautiful colors, great weather
